We are excited to announce the hiring of our new full-time events manager, Blake Gederberg. For the past five years, Blake has been working to plan, promote, and execute events in Central Virginia, working with the Berglund Center in Roanoke, as an independent events producer, and with Lynchburg’s own indie music festival, Lynchstock. Blake is also the co-owner and marketing director at Speakertree, Lynchburg’s record store on Fifth Street.

We could not be more excited for Blake to join our team. He has a true passion for downtown and the skills and experience we have been looking for to help us bring new and innovative events to Downtown Lynchburg.

Gederberg joins us at an exciting time. We will be changing our annual program of events to include new offerings for 2017, including a new Riverfront Park festival in Spring and a new pop-up event series throughout downtown. We will also be partnering with Lynchburg Parks and Recreation to bring some of their popular Movies in the Park events to Riverfront Park, and with the Academy Center of the Arts on their new summer concert series. Along with annual favorite Get Downtown, Downtown Lynchburg will enjoy a full and exciting event season next year!

Gederberg will start work at Lynch’s Landing on January 3.
