First Fridays is a monthly cultural event highlighting local artists, performers, exhibits, and more! Stop by one of the many art galleries offering new exhibits and special performances, then make a night of it in downtown!

First Fridays’ primary purpose is to highlight the organizations and spaces that are bringing local, regional, and even national art to the Lynchburg community. Downtown Lynchburg has an ever-expanding tradition of art, culture, dining, and shopping.

The Lynchburg Museum will be open for First Fridays on Friday, November 1, from 5 pm-7 pm. The featured exhibit β€œ500 Miles: Fifty Years of Running the Virginia 10 Miler” will be on display through the month of November.

The museum also has copies of β€œThe Virginia 10 Miler: Fifty Years and Still Running Strong” by Bret Boman and Lesley McPhatter for sale in the gift shop.

Drop-in style attendees, will have the chance to make their own laser cut card holders or free-style their own small projects with volunteer guidance. The former Bowen’s Jewelry store is being repurposed into a wonderful venue for local artists and creators.

Art at the Krise is an innovative collaboration formed to transform a former jewelry retail store into a vibrant community art space. This partnership brings together local artists,+ art enthusiasts, and property developers to  foster  downtown Lynchburg

Currently, Art at the Krise will present local artists’ work on First Friday in November and December, but will also produce an art holiday market.

Five artists will show their work in this new exciting venue during First Fridays- November
